The thread used for hand-stitching is much thicker than a machine stitch. Its waxed nylon.

How much it cost?
12 cm is kinda long for a money clip, if the card slots can be horizontal instead it would be much much easier to get the cards out and it can be shorter. Looking at the wallet. It seems difficult to get the cards out when there is cash in the clip. I own one right now that is around 11 x 8 but not leather :(

Exact same in quality, strength, both are full-grain leathers.

Distressed leather. Yes, its suppose to scratch easily, is by design. Distressed leather has the skin/seal removed, which allows it to be scratched, etc. Because of this, it also forms a patina very quickly.
